About peter strid Art

Peter Strid is a formally trained, full-time contemporary artist living and working on Philadelphia’s Main Line. With more than 30 years of experience creating and selling art, Strid has built a distinctive practice at the intersection of fine art, popular culture, luxury, and collecting.

Known for his bold interpretations of cultural icons, legendary musicians, luxury automobiles, iconic spirits, and Western imagery, Strid transforms familiar subjects into original works with a strong sense of identity, materiality, and presence. His work moves fluidly between Pop Art, realism, and abstraction, often incorporating unexpected materials and vintage ephemera to create pieces that are as distinctive as the subjects themselves.

Strid’s work has attracted an exceptional circle of collectors, including six billionaires who have acquired his art within the past five years. His collaborations and partnerships include Porsche, Monticello Motor Club, fashion designer Christian Siriano, and JaneWin, among others.

Having exhibited through established galleries and operated his own gallery, Strid has developed an independent approach to presenting and placing his work. Today, he takes a highly selective approach to the development of new collections, the subjects he explores, and the opportunities through which his art reaches collectors.

Availability is intentional. Strid's practice is driven by a commitment to creating work that stands apart rather than producing art for mass consumption. His collections evolve continuously, with individual works and bodies of work presented selectively to the market. For collectors, the opportunity to acquire a Strid original is an opportunity to own a distinctive piece of contemporary culture interpreted through the vision of an established artist.

His current collections reflect his enduring fascination with the icons, machines, and cultural touchstones that define generations. Each body of work offers a different perspective on subjects that inspire passionate followings, creating a natural connection between the art, the subject, and the collector.

Strid’s work can be explored at PeterStridArt.com and on Instagram at @PeterStridArt.
